Rural Development, Panchayati Raj Minister Virender Kanwar said here today that the process of online applications for National Panchayat Award-2021 has been started by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The Panchayats can apply online on the portal of Union Ministry at http://panchayataward.gov.in till 15th November, 2020.
He said that the Union Ministry gives four Awards in four categories to motivate the Panchayats every year on 24 April on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day. These include Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP), Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award and Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat Award. Under DDUPSP, Zila Parishad gets cash Award of Rs. 50 lakh, Panchayat Samitis Rs. 25 lakh per Panchayat Samiti while Gram Panchayats gets Rs. 8 lakh per panchayat.
Under Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar (NDRGGSP) Gram Panchayats are rewarded for their outstanding contribution in the feild of socio-economic development by involving Gram Sabhas.
Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award (GPDPA) is given to Gram Panchayat which has developed its GPDP according to the State/UT specific guidelines prepared in line with the model guidelines issued by MoPR.
Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA) is given to best performing Gram Panchayat/Village Council for adopting child-friendly practices.
Virender Kanwar has appealed the Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samitis and Gram Panchayats to apply for these awards before the last date, so that good performing Panchayats could be awarded anf motivated to work in a more better manner in future.
