Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Thursday reviewed the implementation of the progress of projects worth Rs 126 crore under the Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Program (PUEIP) scheme in Jalandhar.
Presiding over a meeting to discuss the progress of the Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Program (PUEIP), Deputy Commissioner said that under the phase-II of PUEIP, Rs 95 crore for various developmental works in the jurisdiction of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and Rs 31 crore of other Municipal Councils have been allocated to DDLG, Jalandhar.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Sub Divisional Magistrates/MC Officials to ensure that the works kick-started and completed within the stipulated time period for the well-being of the people.
He said that it was the need of the hour for giving a fillip to the overall development of the district. Thori directed the officers to adhere to the timelines for the completion of ongoing projects under the scheme.
He said that these funds would give a major impetus to the overall development of the urban areas of the district. He said that the main motive of the scheme was to ensure comprehensive development of the urban areas of the district.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, Sub Divisional Magistrates Rahul Sindhu, Gautam Jain, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Dr. Vineet Kumar, Dr. Jai Inder Singh, MC Joint Commissioner Innayat, DDLG Darbara Singh, and others were present.
