With dedicated efforts are being made by the administration for maximum enrolment of the population with the cashless healthcare services up to Rs. Five lakh under Ayushman Bharat- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, Jalandhar has become a leading district in Punjab with highest coverage of 23913 families in the last one-month.

Presiding over a meeting in the district administrative complex, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that as per the latest report received from the state government today, the Jalandhar has topped in Punjab with the highest coverage of 23913 families from January 6, 2021, to February 11, 2021 under Ayushman Bharat- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna.

Congratulating the entire team deputed under the scheme for their hard work, Deputy Commissioner also ordered the release of Rs 10,000 as financial assistance to each of five Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) for carrying out an intensive awareness campaign in their areas so that the pace of the enrolment of all beneficiaries under AB-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna, can be further increased. He told SDMs to distribute pamphlets/posters among the people for their sensitization.

He further said at present, the administration is holding 25 camps daily separately besides Mandi Board, Labour and excise departments, and CSC centres are also organizing these camps.Thori asked the officials to shift focus on the urban population and hold a meeting with Municipal Councillors for preparing the schedule of camps.

Terming AB-Serbat Sehat Bima Yojna a game-changer scheme, the deputy commissioner said that people could avail the benefit of cashless treatment up to Rs. 5 Lakh at government and impanelled hospitals. He stated all 13 government health institutions and 57 private hospitals have been impanelled in the district adding the list of impanelled hospitals that could be viewed at sha.punjab.gov.in.
Deputy Commissioner said that people holding NFSA ration cards, construction workers, SECC beneficiaries, small traders, journalists, and J-farm holder farmers are eligible under the scheme adding the beneficiaries could check their eligibility at sha.punjab.gov.in, while all PMJAY families as per Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011(Blue card holder families), can check the same at bis.pmjay.gov.in.

Thori clearly stated that the vendor company was charging nominal fees worth Rs. 30 to enroll and generate e-cards while CHCs, district hospitals, and sub-divisional hospitals providing these services free of cost.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner reviewed the progress of issuing UDID cards to specially-abled persons. He asked health officials to ensure 100 percent disposal of applications under this scheme.

The deputy commissioner also took notice of the progress under Urban Environment Improvement Program (UEIP) and Smart Village Campaign Phase-II and directed officials to ensure completion of all development works within the stipulated time frame.

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, Sub Divisional Magistrates Rahul Sindhu, Gautam Jain, Dr Jai Inder Singh, Vineet Kumar, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Hardeep Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr Balwant Singh and other.
